Aldo is a casino world, a temperate planet with no pollution, gorgeous sunrises, lots of sandy beaches, and all the unpleasant poor hidden in their inland slums. Aldo is one of the wealthiest and most hospitable worlds in the entire cluster, and they’re not shy about advertising it. Casinos and entertainment are pervasive, existing in buildings, submarines, and airships. It’s a great place to spend money.
St. Croix is a marsh world: it’s geologically quiescent, so the tallest peaks have been eroded and the greatest depths have been filled in. The entire surface is covered by lakes and small seas, with few great rivers and no highlands. St. Croix orbits near the inner side of the habitable zone, so it’s always hot, and its lower-than-average gravity and higher-than-average moisture allows the equatorial jungle to grow nearly without interruption. The planet looks like it’s wearing a giant fuzzy green belt. These jungles are home to the treehopper, half of the “Sea & Tree” meal famous in Aldo’s casinos.
St. Croix’s day is 32.5 standard (Hope) hours long.
